Cumbria LGBT Pride are well known for our annual Pride event, but we also support LGBT+ individuals and families all year. In this area there are often activities for adults and teenagers, but there is very little for younger children. We were therefore thrilled that thanks to Morrisons Foundation, we were able to launch 'Make with Pride' in 2022 offering relaxed art and craft sessions for LGBT+ families with this age group.

Our sessions are suitable for nursery/primary age children who must be accompanied by an adult throughout each session. Sessions are for children who either identify as LGBT+ themselves, have family members or friends who identify as LGBT+, or whose family would like support in becoming an LGBT+ ally. We hope to give children more opportunities to see other diverse families, promoting early understanding of inclusion, whilst aiming to help nervous parents/carers/families to feel less isolated.

Sessions are completely free of charge. We aim to plan a mix of both drop in and book in advance sessions, so please ensure you check the details to avoid any disappointment.
