In this area there are often activities for adults and teenagers, but there is very little for younger children, so we introduced 'Make with Pride' offering relaxed art and craft sessions for LGBT+ families with this age group.
Sessions are completely free, and are suitable for nursery/primary age children who must be accompanied by an adult, who either identify as LGBT+ themselves, have family members or friends who identify as LGBT+, or whose family would like support in becoming an LGBT+ ally. We aim to give children more opportunities to see other diverse families and help promote early understanding of inclusion, whilst also supporting nervous parents/carers/families to feel less isolated.
We had such a lovely time crafting together, we’ll definitely be back.
My child absolutely loved it, such a calm and welcoming space.
Really friendly atmosphere, we felt comfortable as soon as we arrived. Thank you.
Such a brilliant session, perfect for families to relax and get creative while talking LGBT.
It was so nice to meet other families, everyone was kind and welcoming.
My little one didn’t want to leave, they enjoyed every minute! Thanks so much!
